Speed Enforcement Activity

Myself and PC 12318 Davis conducted targeted speed enforcement checks in Sissinghurst and Frittenden following concerns raised by local residents regarding vehicle speeds through these villages.

During the operation, a total of 5 vehicles were stopped for speeding offences and the drivers were dealt with accordingly. Advice and enforcement action were taken where appropriate in line with the circumstances of each offence.

In addition, following reports of speeding on The Hill, Cranbrook, we attended and conducted further speed checks in the area. As a result of this enforcement activity, 2 vehicles were identified exceeding the speed limit and were dealt with accordingly.

Road safety remains a priority, and these checks are aimed at reducing the risk of collisions and protecting all road users, including pedestrians, cyclists and vulnerable members of the community. I will continue to carry out both enforcement and engagement activity across the beat area, encouraging safe and responsible driving and supporting communities that wish to become involved in local speed reduction initiatives.

✅ Does it work?
Yes! Over 90% of drivers recorded speeding once are not seen again within 12 months, and overall speeding reduces in communities over time.
